Marching Band FAQs

 

WHO CAN JOIN?

Any Green Hope High School student can join the Marching Band.

 

Brass and Woodwinds: Student who play a brass or woodwind instrument.

 

Percussion and Front Ensemble: Students who play a percussion instrument will complete a percussion audition.  We're also looking for students with piano experience to join the front ensemble.

Are there auditions?

No auditions this year for the 2021-2022 season.

 

HOW DO I JOIN?

Registration forms are online now.

 

WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT DATES?

These are dates of performances and camps, which are required for full membership. Conflicts should have been communicated at the time of registration (or with the leadership application, if applicable). 

  • Mini Camp: June 7th, 8th, and 9th (4-8pm)
  • Guard/Percussion Camp: July 16-18
  • Band Camp Week 1: July 19-23
  • Band Camp Week 2: July 26-30 (Informance on July 30)
  • August Rehearsals Week 1:  Aug 3-5
  • August Rehearsals Week 2:  Aug 10-12
  • Saturday camps: September 11, Followed by Bands of Cary Exhibition
  • Football games: August 20, October 8,  October 22, October 29
  • Competition days: September 25, October 9, October 16, October 30, 

WHAT IF I HAVE TO MISS A DAY?

What should i bring to band camp?

  1. Medications required/recommend by your Physician, such as Inhaler, anaphylactic meds, migraine meds, allergy meds, etc.
  2. Hat
  3. Light-colored, athletic clothing
  4. Sunglasses
  5. Sunscreen…applied before you start to burn!
  6. 32-ounce insulted water jug with a strap for carrying. This will stay with you on the field while you practice
  7. Athletic shoes and a few pairs of socks. NO sandals, flip-flops, or backless shoes. It’s extremely important to have proper footwear and socks for comfort, protection, and the prevention of blisters. EXTRA SOCKS WILL BE YOUR FRIEND AT CAMP.
  8. Bring lunch each and every day in a personal cooler or insulated lunch bag. Refrigeration is not provided.

  10. Three-ring binder, pen, pencil, paper, music

Login to the website and click My Account --> Parent and Student Information.

Login to your band account and then click on "My Account", "Update My Account", "Account Balance"

 

WHEN ARE FAIR SHARE PAYMENTS DUE?

(Estimates based on last year.  Subject to change.)

$350 + any items ordered at registration due on/before enrollment night - May 18, 2021
$325 due on/before Day 1 of Band Camp - Jul 19, 2021
$300 due on/before 1st Day of School - Aug 23, 2021
$300 due on/before 1st Competition - Sep 25, 2021


HOW CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT?

Online is preferred.  Online: Login to the website and click My Account.In Person: Drop your check in the Green Box outside the director's office.By Mail: Green Hope High School Band Boosters, PO Box 358, Morrisville NC 27560 Please mark the memo line of your checks with purpose and student name.
 

HOW CAN I SEE MY ACCOUNT BALANCE AND MAKE A PAYMENT?

 Login to your account Once you are logged in - you will see a light blue box on your screen that says "Notice: You have one or more orders with a balance due. Click here to pay" Note, Marching Band Fair Share payments are due according the schedule above.  It is normal to have a balance due at the beginning of the season. 
  • Click on Click here to pay
  • Orders with Balance Due are listed in a box
  • Click on the Order Number to make a payment
  • Click on make a payment now
  • Follow the instructions to make payment
  • An email confirmation of payment will be sent - check your spam folder if you do not receive confirmation

HOW CAN I APPLY A STUDENT CREDIT TO MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?

 If you have a credit on your students account (example from fundraising efforts), once you are logged in you will be able to see this credit on your account 
  • Orders with Balance Due are listed in a box
  • Click on the Order Number to make a payment
  • Click on 'make a payment now'
  • If you have a credit, Click on 'apply credit to order'
  • Click on 'Apply credit to order now'
  • Order will show with your credit applied and any remaining balance due
  • Follow the instructions to make payment on balance due
  • An email confirmation of payment will be sent - check your spam folder if you do not receive confirmation
